Dear Africa IGF Community,
From 29th to 31st May 2025, the 14th Annual Africa Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) was successfully held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, under the theme “Empowering Africa’s Digital Future.” Hosted by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, in collaboration with the Africa IGF Secretariat, UNECA, and the African Union Commission, this year’s forum brought together over 1,000 participants from 67 countries, including ministers, youth, parliamentarians, civil society, and digital innovators.

Voices That Shaped the Forum
The forum was opened by Hon. Jerry William Silaa, Tanzania’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology, speaking on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Global and regional stakeholders—including the EU, ITU, UNESCO, GIZ, and others—contributed to dynamic conversations on digital governance, policy harmonization, and inclusive access.
