Africa Youth IGF Track

Pre-Event Engagement Series AFYIGF25

Objectives of “Road to Dar

Africa is the world’s youngest continent, with over 60% of its population under the age of 25 a powerful force for shaping the region’s digital future.

The “Road to Dar” captures this energy by framing the lead-up to the Dar es Salaam forum as a shared journey of learning, connection, and empowerment for African youth.
The aim is to equip and inspire young people, particularly Gen Z, to actively engage in digital policy discussions.
By the time they arrive in Dar, they won’t just be attendees they’ll be informed, connected, and ready to contribute meaningfully to the Africa IGF dialogue.

Amplify Youth Voices

Creating dedicated spaces before the forum for youth to express their priorities and challenges ensures their voices are reflected in the shaping of the Africa IGF agenda.

Build Capacity and Awareness

Newcomers will be introduced to Internet Governance and core digital policy issues, empowering them to participate meaningfully even if it's their first time.

Foster Pan-African Community

Youth from across the continent will be connected in shared dialogue, strengthening a united African digital community ahead of the Dar es Salaam gathering.

Hype and Momentum

Through storytelling, youth-led campaigns, and engaging online sessions, the Road to Dar es Salaam will inspire active participation and lead into an energized Youth Day Zero event.
