As preparations continue for the Africa Youth Internet Governance Forum (Africa Youth IGF) 2026, young people across the continent are invited to join a consultation to help shape the Forum’s theme, priority issues, programme and expected outcomes.
The Africa Youth IGF 2026 will take place on 2 November 2026 in Accra, Ghana, alongside the Africa Internet Governance Forum.
The 2026 Youth IGF seeks to place young Africans at the center of conversations about Africa’s digital future, particularly as the continent navigates rapid developments in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, online safety, digital rights, connectivity and emerging technologies.
This consultation is an opportunity for young people to contribute directly to the design of the Forum before the programme is finalized.
Participants will be invited to provide input on:
- The proposed theme for the Africa Youth IGF 2026.
- The most important digital and Internet governance issues affecting African youth.
- Priority topics that should feature in the programme.
- Innovative and youth-friendly session formats.
- How to strengthen meaningful youth participation in digital governance.
- What concrete outcomes and recommendations should emerge from the Forum.
The consultation is open to:
- National and Regional Youth IGF Coordinators
- Young Internet governance and digital policy advocates
- Youth-led organisations and networks
- Students and young researchers
- Young entrepreneurs, innovators and technology practitioners
- Young people working in cybersecurity, AI, digital rights, online safety and related fields
- Members of the wider Internet governance community interested in supporting meaningful youth participation
