As we prepare to welcome you to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for the 2025 Africa Internet Governance Forum, we would like to share important visa and immigration information to help ensure a smooth travel experience for all delegates.
Referral Visa Requirements
Delegates holding passports from the countries listed below are required to apply for an e-Visa through the official Tanzanian Immigration website: https://visa.immigration.go.tz/
Once your application is submitted, please share your application code via the designated form so we can coordinate efficiently with the Host Country Immigration Service via https://igf.africa/travel-2025/
Countries requiring a Referral Visa:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Chad, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Iran, Iraq, Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzstan), Lebanon, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Stateless persons, or persons with refugee status.
Important Notes for Referral Visa Applicants
- Do not book your flight tickets or hotel accommodation in Tanzania until your visa has been approved.
- Stateless persons and refugees holding Vienna Convention travel documents are also required to obtain a Referral Visa before travel.
- The list of referral countries may change, so we recommend checking official sources regularly.
